In Tirana, Albania, the “School Block” project, supported by our Asphalt Art Initiative, has given local children a place to play and walk freely without the danger of unmonitored traffic. Inspired by street art in cities across the globe, the project has:

🚗Widened the sidewalks around high-traffic areas
🏫Improved street safety around four local schools
🤸Incorporated local children’s names into the design

Children are safer and happier as they travel to and from school – and every resident is safer as they spend time in this new community space.
