American Talent Initiative on Track to Goal of 50,000 More Lower-Income Students by 2025

The findings underscore the importance of the American Talent Initiative’s (ATI) collaborative push to expand opportunity for low- and moderate-income students across the country.

Building on the success of 12 years of investment, Bloomberg Philanthropies today announced a doubling of its support for global road safety, committing another $240 million from 2020 – 2025 to save 600,000 more lives and prevent up to 22 million injuries in low- and middle-income countries around the world. The six-year reinvestment in the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety is expected to double its impact to date. Since 2007, the initiative has saved an estimated 312,000 lives and prevented up to 11.5 million injuries. The reinvestment also includes a new awards competition to shine a light on low- and middle-income countries that have made exemplary progress in road safety.

Bloomberg Philanthropies Selects Twenty-One European Cities to Join New Digital Innovation Program

Bloomberg Philanthropies announced today that Tokyo is the newest city to join the Partnership for Healthy Cities as part of a $12 million reinvestment to expand the number of cities in the program from 54 to 70. The Partnership for Healthy Cities is a global network of cities, each committed to achieving one of 14 health interventions proven to save lives, such as reducing sugary drink consumption, increasing seat-belt or helmet use, or promoting active, safe mobility. Today’s announcement brings the total invested in the program to $20.5 million.
