Serpentine Galleries
Since 2014, Mike Bloomberg has served as the chairman of the Serpentine Galleries in London. The Serpentine is consistently among the city’s most popular cultural institutions, with more than a million visitors a year. The Serpentine champions new ideas and hosts rotating exhibits that highlight the work of some of the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, architects, and designers.
The Serpentine Galleries are located in Kensington Gardens, one of London’s most important Royal Parks. The two buildings are connected via a bridge that goes over the Serpentine Lake, which gives the museum its name. The Serpentine is consistently ranked among the 100 most visited museums in the world. Admission is free.
Bloomberg Philanthropies has supported the Bloomberg Gallery at the Serpentine, as well as the museum’s digital engagement program through Bloomberg Connects; educational programs and exhibitions from new and established artists and architects; and resources to support management activities.
