External Communications

Rachel Nagler is a seasoned communications executive who has led strategic public and media relations in both in-house and agency roles. Working in the field for more than 25 years, she has shaped the reach, impact, and perception of major media brands, C-suite executives, and international organizations and foundations.

Since 2017 she has led external communications for Bloomberg Philanthropies, which encompasses Michael R. Bloomberg’s foundation, corporate, and personal giving. She oversees external messaging and all communications planning regarding the global social impact of Bloomberg’s philanthropic work in its five main focus areas of the Arts, Education, Environment, Government Innovation, and Public Health.

Rachel joined Bloomberg LP as the Head of Global Communications for Bloomberg Businessweek in 2011. In this role she oversaw the strategy and execution of all communications for the Bloomberg Businessweek brand – including businessweek.com and the app; events; and foreign editions – and had additional duties overseeing the promotion of Bloomberg News editorial content, and contributing to larger Bloomberg events and initiatives.

Prior to joining Bloomberg, Rachel was Senior Vice President at Rubenstein Communications for six years where her clients included TIME magazine, National Geographic, Hearst, Time Warner, EIF - Entertainment Industry Foundation, United Nations Foundation, The New York Public Library, the NHL, HBO Documentary Films, and many others. Rachel spent the first decade of her career in the publicity departments of book publishers Simon & Schuster and Random House.

Rachel is a graduate of Bowdoin College, the Radcliffe Publishing Course, and The Spence School.
